Rod Enns Rodrick J. Enns

Rod has practiced law for more than twenty-five years, focusing for most of his career on litigation and counseling in intellectual property, antitrust and trade regulation matters.  He has had primary responsibility for more than seventy trials and appeals at both the state and federal level. 

Rod has been active in the International Trademark Association for many years, and currently sits on its Board of Directors, as well as on its U.S. Legislation Subcommittee.  He was a member of the INTA Select Committee on the U.S. Federal Trademark Dilution Act in 2003, whose work resulted in passage by Congress of the Trademark Dilution Revision Act of 2006.  He was also a founding member of the Antitrust and Trade Regulation Law Section of the North Carolina Bar Association, and chaired that Section in 1991-92. 

Rod formerly practiced in the Winston-Salem office of Kilpatrick Stockton LLP (1983 - 2001), and with the Denver firm of Lohf & Barnhill, P.C. (1979-83).  He received his law degree from Harvard Law School, cum laude, in 1979, and his undergraduate degree from the University of Washington, magna cum laude with distinction in Philosophy, in 1976.

 

Julia Archer Julia C. Archer

Julia has practiced law for more than fifteen years, with a primary focus on counseling, clearance and compliance with respect to trademarks, domain names, advertising, sweepstakes and promotions.  She also had substantial hands-on litigation experience early in her career, before she came to her senses.  She has been active in the International Trademark Association since 1999.  She currently serves as a member of the Fair Use and Other Boundaries Subcommittee of INTA’s Emerging Issues Committee, and has previously served as Chair of INTA’s Special Projects Subcommittee of the Trademark Administrators Committee.  She is also a member of the Promotion Marketing Association.

Julia is admitted to practice in both North and South Carolina , and is active in the North Carolina Bar Association, including its Intellectual Property Section.  She formerly practiced in the Winston-Salem office of Kilpatrick Stockton LLP (1992-2000).  She received her law degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law, cum laude, in 1992, and her B.A. in Psychology, cum laude, from Davidson College in 1988.

Carol S. Cox Carol S. Cox, Administrator

Carol has more than twenty years experience in the intellectual property field, providing a wide variety of services in roles including Trademark Administrator, Legal Assistant, and Administrative Assistant to IP attorneys.  She has extensive background in trademark maintenance, searching, clearance, and prosecution, both nationally and internationally, and has working relationships with practitioners around the world.
